Love songs. Although they may be cheesy, these love ballads somehow manage to speak to our soul, or at the very least get trapped in our heads for days on end. 1) Change Your World by Eric Clapton
The song won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year as well as Best Male Pop Vocal performance This song was recorded for the soundtrack of the 1996 film, Phenomenon. What a great song!
2) Let’s Get It On by Marvin Gaye
The song became one of Gaye’s most successful singles, as it reached #1 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart on September 8, 1973. In 2008, “Let’s Get It On” was ranked #32 on Billboard magazine’s Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs list. I don’t care who you are… this song is sexy.
3) Baby I Love Your Way by Peter Frampton
This song was first featured on Frampton’s 1975 album, Frampton. In the third season episode of Family Guy, “Death Lives”, Peter reveals that this is his and Lois’s song, with Frampton guest starring as himself singing the song. http://video.adultswim.com/family-guy/thisll-be-our-song.html
4) The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra
Sung by one of the most sexiest and romantic singers of any time, this song is featured in the film Swing Time, originally performed by Fred Astaire. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1936. Frank Sinatra recorded it in 1964. We love us some Frank.
5) I’ll Be by Edwin McCain
The song was released in January 1998 as the first single from his second album, Misguided Roses. “I’ll Be” ended up being a success for McCain in the United States, peaking at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was only his second single to chart, it became his first and only Top 10 hit and his biggest hit. We don’t want to love it, but we just can’t help it!
